A driver of Jeep Cherokee was driving the wrong way on I-15 freeway near 6th Street exit in Norco, crashing into a silver Honda, killing three people. The driver of the Jeep was driving northbound in the southbound lanes and the reason for this suicidal behavior was not determined yet. The driver was also injured and was taken to a hospital but later died.

It seems difficult to wrap my head around why or how this had happened. The driver probably either had entered the wrong freeway entrance or had crossed the middle dividing dirt area of the freeway. The motive for this behavior could be either drug or alcohol influenced driving or a pure suicidal intent.

Whatever the reason was one thing that everyone would agree is that the three victims including the ones in the silver Honda did not have to die. No innocent people should become injured or die because of other people’s reckless or negligent behaviors. It always saddens me as a personal injury attorney in Los Angeles to hear victims’ stories of their wrongfully obtained injuries or sometimes even death. I cannot imagine the pain and suffering family members of the victims have to go through because of this incident. We understand that we cannot truly replace the injury or loss of the victim but our firm works hard to hold the wrongdoers accountable for the pain and suffering caused to victims and their loved ones. Talk to us if you have been involved in a serious accident and you obtained a personal injury by someone else’s negligence.

A motorcyclist had struck a white Ford Expedition on Coldwater Canyon Avenue in Valley Glen. He was traveling north on that road and hit the Ford when it was making a U-turn. The man was taken to a hospital and was pronounced dead.

It seems as if either the driver of the white Ford or the motorcyclist did not see each other before the collision. It’s more likely that the Ford may have been at fault assuming that the motorcyclist was going straight on the road because cars waiting to turn left or make a U-turn must yield to vehicles traveling straight.

It is sad that the man had died from the collision regardless of whose fault it was. Motorcycle accidents are dangerous and often they result in serious injuries for the rider. If you or a loved has been involved in a motorcycle accident, please contact our motorcycle accident lawyer in Los Angeles.

Susanna Schick is recovering in a hospital after her hit and run bicycle accident on Spring Street in downtown Los Angeles. The LAPD is still waiting for witnesses to come forward to help identifying the hit and run driver. Susanna Schick pointed out inconsistencies in the police report from the incident as to the speed she was traveling and whether a car was even involved or not. The police’s interpretation of the incident is that it may not have been a car that hit her because Schick said to them she did not recall the impact. However, she points out the lack of memory may have been from the concussion caused from the impact and that there is no way her injury was caused as a result of a sudden fall on the pavement.

It is always very saddening to read about hit and run accidents. Hit and run driving is a serious crime not to mention the weight of civil penalty is much greater. No jury will find for the hit and run driver even if there may be an argument where the bicyclist was contributorily negligent.

I always think maybe someone could invent a device where you attach to the backside of your bike seat allowing it to record traffic images so that you could simply play that file back later to find evidence of the hit and run driver.

Bicycle accident injury is a serious one and if you or your loved one has been involved in one, talk to our Los Angeles bicycle accident attorneys.

Anthony Dunn Jr., a postal worker from Compton had died when a vehicle struck his van while he was standing near the rear of his van on Tuesday in Boyle Heights. Dunn was taken to a hospital but was declared dead. The motorist who struck Dunn’s vehicle had a suspended license and the driver may have fallen asleep. Charges are pending against the motorist although if the fact the driver had fallen asleep was true, depending on the circumstances, he or she may not be charged with homicide. However, civil charges will not be avoided against the motorist although the insurance company will probably argue that their policy does not extend to insured’s negligence in violation of their policy – keeping their driver’s license status up to date. Depending on whether this accident occurred while Dunn was fulfilling his duties as a mailman during his working hours, his family members may be able to bring a work compensation claim against the employer along with the driver, holding them jointly and severally liable for the wrongful death of Mr. Dunn.

I give my condolences to his family members for their tragic loss. As I read the blog about these tragic stories that happen around Los Angeles areas, I am hoping that I could provide some useful information on legal rights on one’s personal injury claim. I’m your personal injury attorney in Los Angeles.

A catastrophic accident occurred in South Los Angeles on 110 freeway when a car went into a bus lane and struck seven people waiting for a bus. The crash occurred at 3:15pm on the northbound of the freeway near Interstate 105. Six people became critically injured and one man suffered minor injuries from the accident.

An attorney at our firm happened to be a witness of this accident. He was right behind the car that had struck these pedestrians. The driver of the car passed him on the far left side of the freeway and went into the bus only lane. The carpool lanes divide into two lanes – a bus only lane on the far left side and a regular traffic road on the right side of the carpool lane. The driver probably did not realize that the left side of the carpool lane was for buses only. While the driver was speeding at around 75mph into the bus lane, he swerved to avoid hitting a standing bus. In doing so, the car hit a curb and struck the pedestrians waiting for the bus.

The driver was negligent. But we also believe the city of Los Angeles may have been negligent with two things. First, there weren’t enough signs to warn drivers not to enter into the bus lane because of this potential danger for pedestrians. Second, the curb dividing the bus lane road and where the pedestrians stand to wait for their bus was way too low that it is foreseeable that a driver who went into the bus lane due to lack of signs and warnings endangering pedestrians. This accident was the perfect example of that theory arguing the city is negligent.

My heart goes out to the victims and their families from this accident. They were just being good citizens by riding public transportations to get to work to help support their families. Everywhere in the media we see propagandas saying we should ride public transportation more to help the environment and for other various reasons. By doing so, people should not be in positions of undertaking risks of becoming injured or even killed by foreseeable negligent acts of drivers because of the way roads are structured and the curb being too low.

Our Los Angeles personal injury attorneys help victims of auto accidents. In many cases, accident cases are not easy to deal with for non-attorneys. The uphill legal battle is too complicated and costly for cases like this.

Although it is little known as to what exactly happened, one could reasonably guess that Mr. Carey may not have prepared the parachute at the right time and the impact of landing was too great. As far as whether this accident was due to his own negligence or from any defects in his parachute, it is to be investigated.

Skydiving is a very dangerous activity. You would sign a waiver with any companies that provide skydiving services such as providing equipment rentals and flying divers in the sky. Those companies could also be negligent and their own negligence with such dangerous activity could not be waived even through a proper waiver. A valid liability waiver can only waive inherent risks in the activities involved. If they rented out defective parachutes to divers or they did not otherwise provide a safe environment for skydiving, those companies could be responsible for any personal injury or wrongful death cases.

If your loved one has been involved in a skydiving accident, talk to our skydiving accident attorney in Los Angeles. You may be entitled to compensation.

A 41-year-old Anaheim man Jose Velasquez Castillo died Saturday when he fell into a swimming pool while mowing a lawn according to LA Times. Castillo, was taken to UC Irvine Medical Center where he was pronounced dead. The cause of the death is unknown as a pending autopsy may reveal later. However, what is interesting is that another exact same incident occurred back in August where 30-year-old Lucinda Godinez of Newhall fell into a pool with a lawnmower and died. Authorities have considered these as freak accidents as no reasonable hypothesis was rendered as to how and why this incident happened. As a Los Angeles personal injury attorney, my thoughts go into whether there was a dangerous artificial condition on the property where the accident occurred. The lawnmowers could also have been defective. But what really caused someone to not be able to let go of the lawnmower (unless it was one you sit on) and how did the death occur? It’s a question that opens too many speculations.

If you have been injured on another person’s property as a result of a possible negligence on the landowner’s part, talk to our injury attorneys in Los Angeles. Depending on why you were at the person’s property and what caused your injury, you may be entitled to a fair compensation.

Although it is unknown the criminal charges of Mr. Mijangos may convict him of the charges but the family of Mr. King could subsequently bring a civil action against Mijangos under a wrongful death claim. In that case, it could be a case involving a big monetary damage award if successful for the plaintiff. As a personal injury attorney, many people seem to overlook the possibility of compensation when their loved one is involved in a deadly auto accident because often the family does not wish to relive the tragedy after a criminal trial if there is one for the defendant. However, the only way you could receive justice for your loved one is if you hold the guilty party accountable. Talk to us today about your case. We are here to help you seek justice.

I spent some time living in the Pacific Northwest including greater Seattle and Portland areas. There, most accident increases occur due to snowy weather. People panic, and their tires are not in good conditions to deal with the weather change. It is not the snow or rain, but rather, it is the lack of snow or rain in those areas that seem to cause the increase in car accidents. If it rained more in Los Angeles, more people would be prepared for driving in the rain. Moreover, oil that collects on roads over a long period of dry weather washed up all of sudden when it rains, thereby creating a very slippery road condition. It is vital to drive more carefully in a changed environment because there may be subtle factors that could go wrong and unfortunately cause accidents.
