A head-on accident in the Mission Hills area caused three people to die around 2:15am. The accident occurred at Laurel Canyon Blvd. and Rinaldi St. and the three men were pronounced dead at the scene and one driver was injured. The cause of the accident is under investigation.

A woman on a motorized wheelchair, a power wheelchair was struck by a man driving a Mercedes Benz in Van Nuys on Sepulveda and Haynes. She was subsequently taken to a local hospital and was pronounced dead. The driver was a 50-year-old man from Los Angeles. The driver did not run after the accident and stayed on the scene to help the victim. Further facts of what happened are not available at the point to the public but some possibilities include negligent driving or the victim jaywalking.

A driver was killed on San Tomas Expressway after entering into the wrong way and collided into an oncoming car. The driver was a 59-year-old man from San Jose. He was driving 1990 Honda when he drove north on the southbound side of the expressway. He then rammed into a 2010 Toyota at 45 miles per hour. The victim of this accident Yong Ling Shiao, 68, also died from the scene even though both drivers were wearing seat belts.

A bicyclist in North Hills was killed by a hit-and-run driver who was described by police to be a Hispanic man in his 60s. This incident happened on Friday around 2am at Nordoff Street and Gaviota Avenue. Both the victim and the driver were traveling eastbound on Nordhoff Street when the accident happened. There was a heavy impact which probably did an extensive damage to the vehicle and the debris from the scene could help investigators figure out who this hit-and-run driver was. A military jet crashed into a farm in Camarillo, California – 50 miles north of Los Angeles – on Friday, killing the pilot. The pilot was a civilian who was on a training exercise with this military-contracted Hawker Hunter jet. Federal investigators could not yet determine the cause of this accident and the investigation will be handed over to Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board. There was no other casualty on the ground, nor any fire.

A driver of Jeep Cherokee was driving the wrong way on I-15 freeway near 6th Street exit in Norco, crashing into a silver Honda, killing three people. The driver of the Jeep was driving northbound in the southbound lanes and the reason for this suicidal behavior was not determined yet. A motorcyclist had struck a white Ford Expedition on Coldwater Canyon Avenue in Valley Glen. He was traveling north on that road and hit the Ford when it was making a U-turn. The man was taken to a hospital and was pronounced dead.

Anthony Dunn Jr., a postal worker from Compton had died when a vehicle struck his van while he was standing near the rear of his van on Tuesday in Boyle Heights. Dunn was taken to a hospital but was declared dead. The motorist who struck Dunn’s vehicle had a suspended license and the driver may have fallen asleep. Charges are pending against the motorist although if the fact the driver had fallen asleep was true, depending on the circumstances, he or she may not be charged with homicide. A skydiver Sean Carey (35) from San Diego was killed during a skydiving competition at Perris Valley Skydiving Center. Mr. Carey hit the ground around 9am and was rushed to the hospital where he was pronounced dead at 9:52am.
