A bicyclist in North Hills was killed by a hit-and-run driver who was described by police to be a Hispanic man in his 60s. This incident happened on Friday around 2am at Nordoff Street and Gaviota Avenue. Both the victim and the driver were traveling eastbound on Nordhoff Street when the accident happened. There was a heavy impact which probably did an extensive damage to the vehicle and the debris from the scene could help investigators figure out who this hit-and-run driver was. Once caught, this driver will face some serious jail time upon conviction for vehicular manslaughter and hit-and-run driving. However, criminal charges don’t compensate the victim’s family. It’s the wrongful death claim that will compensate the family. If your loved one has tragically passed by someone’s negligent act, you need to hire a wrongful death attorney to bring claims against the defendant’s insurance and personal assets.
